Our Academic Support initiative under the Children Enrichment Programme is designed to help children develop strong foundational skills in core subjects. While Children’s Wishing Well aims to develop our children holistically, academics still remains a core foundation of the local schooling system. We hope to support our young ones to do their best in school, despite not having the same access to tuition and other resources that their peers may have. To bridge the gap, we provide curated academic support via academic lessons and the Reading club.
Our academic lessons provide targeted support in subjects English and Math, helping students enhance their understanding and build confidence in their studies. We have trained MOE-qualified tutors who provide these lessons, to ensure that our students are receiving the best support they can to catch up with their peers.
Complementing this, our Reading Club cultivates literacy skills through engaging reading sessions, discussions, and interactive activities. The club encourages a lifelong passion for reading and improves comprehension, vocabulary, and communication abilities, equipping children with essential tools for academic success and personal growth. This takes place every term, for 8-10 sessions each term. The programme is thoughtfully curated by staff, to include hands on-activities and engaging discussions. It is executed with the support of volunteers, who commit to coming by weekly to build rapport with their paired child and support them along this journey.
